Cold Weather Tips

As the weather begins to get colder and winter is upon us we wanted to remind drivers of a few cold weather safety tips. Whether you encounter icy or snow covered roads on your daily commute or you are planning a to take a ski trip in the mountains we want to make sure you are safe on the roads.

Make sure you can see. Replace windshield wiper blades. Clean the inside of your windows thoroughly. Make sure your windshield washer system works and is full of an anti-icing fluid. We recommend you drain older fluid by running the washers until new fluid appears: Switching fluid colors is helpful for deciphering.
Give yourself a brake. Learn how to get maximum efficiency from your brakes before an emergency. It's easy to properly use anti-lock brakes: Stomp, stay and steer. Stomp on the pedal as if you were trying to snap it off. Stay hard on the pedal. Steer around the obstacle.  If you drive on icy roads or roads that are covered with snow, modify your ABS technique: After you "Stomp" and the ABS begins cycling — you will feel pulses in the pedal or hear the system working — ease up slightly on the pedal until the pulsing happens only once a second.
Get a grip. To have adequate snow traction, a tire requires at least 6/32-inch deep tread, according to The Tire Rack. (New passenger-car tires usually have 10/32-inch of tread.) Make sure to visit the Greg May Honda Service Department or a tire shop to have them check the tread on your tires to make sure it it has enough traction for icy or snow covered roads.

  1. I really appreciate this one. First in foremost driving in a snowy road is dangerous because tires are not that effective and the view is very limited sometimes. Aside on driving safely we drivers must have some insurance to back up us in case we had some accidents. It will surely a big help to us. Thanks

  2. Discounts may be seasonal or may depend on negotiations done by the individual and the company dealers. Offers may be given to regular customers who have rented with the company before as the company already knows there history. Individuals who have had a good car renting experience will also get preferential treatment as it means they have good driving skills that are if they have never had bad incidents with the cars they have rented before.
